Lighthouse Baptist Church Outreach Ministry
Outreach: To reach farther (than): exceed: surpass: extend.
Our purpose is not only to reach out to our church members but to our community.
Proverbs 2: 3-5 (King James)
Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures: Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.
How many times we have all desired insight and discernment. We want to be able to look past the surface of a situation and see the real cause. We want to be able to look behind the front of an organization or group of people and see the purpose. We want to be able to look within ourselves and examine our motives, and find whether they are selfish or unselfish. God promises that if we are searching for these as for lost money or hidden treasure, then wisdom will be given to us and the knowledge of GOD himself. Oh, how we all desire this! How many people do we know who say, “Yes, I would like to know GOD.” Well, we have good news: Our GOD is knowable! He says, in Matthew 11:28-29 “Come unto Me,…”. But it begins, as the writer of Proverbs says, with “The importance of reverence and trust in the Lord.” Do you really trust Him? Do you trust Him with all of life? With your family? Your finances? Oh! That you might say “Yes, I trust Him! I trust Him completely!”
What promises we find in GOD’s word! The Lord grants wisdom. His every word is a treasure of knowledge and understanding. GOD has revealed himself to us through his works and his word in the revelation of his son, Jesus Christ. How many times we look around at his works, the mountains and the sea. We see the blue sky, fleecy clouds as they float along, the tall pines and hear the birds sing. All around are the presence of the majestic wonders he has created and the sense of the presence of the creator himself, and yet, we seldom get to know GOD just through his words. And so he has prepared for us his word, and it is through reading his word over and over, studying it, asking questions, and seeking answers that he gives wisdom to us. His every word is a treasure of knowledge and understanding.
Our desire here at Lighthouse Baptist Church is that every person knows that they are loved. GOD never took time to make a “nobody”. “Who you are makes a difference” in all the lives that you touch and definitely here at Lighthouse Baptist. We bare our Cross on Palm Saturday as a reminder that Christ died on the cross for all of our sins. We celebrate on Easter because we know he has risen! We extend an invitation to all who wish to join us to worship our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ the one and only true son of GOD.
Lighthouse Baptist Church invites you to come and visit one Sunday and give us an opportunity for you to get to know us.
FATHER, GOD, bless all my family, friends, church family and my community in whatever it is that you know they may need this day! And may their lives be full of your peace, prosperity and power as they seek to have a closer relationship with you.
